Creating a new article

Getting started

In order to create an article you need to register an account. You can register by pressing the "Log in/Create account" link in the top-right.

Before creating a new article there are a few things to consider:

1. Is the article relevant to Tir-Nimphel? An article about The Darklands would be perfectly fine and welcomed as it is related to the setting, whereas an article about the Playstation 3 wouldn't fit at all.

2. Does the article already exist? Check if there is an article about the subject already by doing a search in the search box to the left.

3. Once you're sure that no such article exists you can create it directly from the search results page by pressing the text stating that no such page exists.

Editing an article

You can edit an article as long as you're logged in and the page isn't locked. To do so press the "Edit" tab located on the top of the page.

Sources/References

You should remember to provide a source showing where you got your information; you can add a source by typing <ref>www.source.com</ref>. References require that you add a references section at the bottom of the pages if one doesn't already exist. You can add a reference section by either using the {{References}} template or by typing ==References== followed by <references/> on a new line.

Categories

You can, and should, add an article to all relevant categories. To do so you should first check the current list of categories available by visiting Special:Categories and look for any relevant existing categories. To add a page to a category you type [[Category:"Name of the category"]] without the quotation marks anywhere on the page, though preferrably at the very end.

If the selected category doesn't exist it is created.

Missing articles

If you encounter any red links in articles, feel free to add the article that it should link to (or link it to the proper existing article). Any information about a subject is better than no information, as long as it isn't misguiding.
